Default Ontario Open Shooting Dog Championship

I had the honour of judging this years championship at Hullett.
We looked at some of the finest horseback shooting dogs on the circuit today.
Thanks to all the handlers that came up from the US and the hard work done by the small group of stalwarts that put on the event.

I wanted to join but just figured that dogs would be too expensive. Like how many do you shoot in a day?

I guess I was mistaken. I thought it was a test of the dogs' marksmanship

No . It was a Championship for qualified shooting dogs. You had to have a previous placement in a shooting dog stake to qualify..... steady to flush/shot/honor +++++ . "Open " meaning for amateurs and pros.
I think its been going for 70 years so quite an honor to participate , place or judge.

I haven't paid my $90.00 yet , so couldn't retrieve the American Field report for this event , but this shows 2013:

Thanks Tim. Must have been a real pleasure to judge those dogs. Why do you think the Tracy's are so successful?
