    The older Remington 870's used to have wood plugs that will do the same. Mine isn't new by any means but thankfully its got a plastic plug
    How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

    I have some plastic dowel that I used to fix a friends Remington when his plastic plug broke. Maybe I will replace my wood one.

    Good idea to check periodically when cleaning your shotgun. I use my snap caps so I don't have to use live ammo in the house.
