But when I see them on the lake I frequent , there aren't any pike in it . So they are either targeting oos bass or oos Muskie . And unfortunatly most of the ones I see are "shiny" bass boats. When I see a small tinny with a family in it they are usually using a bobber and worm targeting pan fish , not throwing big spinner baits , or top water. Not saying , just saying.

Not saying all anglers with bass boats are poachers, most aren't, just a surprise when they are... Seen many times some throwing shallow spinnerbaits at lily pads when bass or Muskie aren't open and no pike. You could fish walleye that way, so it's not illegal, but they are bass fishing and gammimg the system. Anyways most don't, so not too worried about the bass populations.

That's what gets me when I see the fully equipped bass guys out early...they should know better...and you think they'd be a bit more conscious of a resource they value (since they have spent that much $$$ in pursuit of them)???

Yup, also seen two ice fisherman in the last few seasons one with a quad, portable, vex and the other with a sled setup. Both running 4 lines... That was surprising to me! You don't expect the more proffesional types to be acting that way...

[QUOTE=intothedeep;794700]I'm far more concerned with anglers throwing spinnerbaits in three foot of water trying to catch bass for C/R then the odd angler who hits one accidentally and snaps a quick shot, specially if they are respectful of the fish and a quick release...[/QUOTE
agreed.
