Much hue and cry over at CGN over this.
If you have a 715T with the 25 rounder, you're fine. The import of any magazines from around Feb on will not happen.

My son has been bugging me for an AR style stock for our 10/22 which we quite often use at the farm. STI makes a nice one but I have resisted for the very reason so many have stated already. We don't need the extra attention. I have thought about getting a .22 cal conversion kit or completely new upper for our Bushmaster 5.56 to save on ammo costs at the range. Has anyone tried any of these? Any suggestions? The gun is still restricted with the kit so is it really worth it?

Of course it isn't.
If you want to shoot at the range, buy a .22 that you can hunt in the field with as well. The Ruger 10/22 with a tac'd up ATI stock fits the bill, or just get the Ruger SR22.
