Does Ontario Need A Primitive Muzzleloader Season?
Do we need an early Primitive Muzzleloader Season in Ontario? This would be restricted to actual flintlock or percussion firearms.
It would seem to me that this would make for more opportunities for Ontario hunters and deal with some of the over population of deer issues in MWU which for safety reasons cannot consider a rifle season.
What are your thoughts?

There is already a season for that in many areas.

There are only few hunters that even take part on the present Muzzleloader season....and that already includes both primitive and in-lines. I can't see any benifit to driving a wedge between them and having a separate one for the 'primitives'.
Nothing says you can't use a muzzleloader in a shotgun only WMU.

Agree with your thoughts on that - it's already a pretty small group.

I use my flintlock in Southern On during the controlled hunt.
What I would like to see is flintlocks be allowed during the archery season.

I'd like to see a general muzzle loading season in all WMU's. In our area I think only WMU 59 has a black powder season.
