May be you are right. I will be alone with my dog. Leaving dog in the car is not an option.

How did you find the Gun Library i.e. if they have set up one at this location?

The flyer I received did mention the gun library.

They displayed used guns in the library and had some nice pieces, was kind of like the high end section of the LCBO in select stores .

I was there last night and never even went near the gun counter or the library. Spent enough without getting in that section. The discount made it worth the trip. Know your pricing for items your looking for. Can't imagine what Thursday will be like. I was going to take the boys but will now wait until the novelty wears a bit. Had a nice first experience there and will go back.

I went to the VIP night last night at the Barrie Cabelas and I wasn’t impressed. In my opinion the hunting clothing section was TOO SMALL and was very limited and the blaze orange section was nonexistent. I went with a shopping list and I was not even to buy half of it so I will be going to Bass Pro this weekend.

If you are in a rush to go to the Cabelas I suggest waiting to avoid the crowds and hopefully they can restock the shelves

I went today at noon and the place was a zoo right at opening. Very nice store and will most likely never travel to bass pro again as i live 10 mins from cabelas but it is very similar to bass pro in pricing and stock. There is nothing worth buying on sale this weekend so stay away it will be hectic.

I was in there today also. Really see nothing better there compared to Basspro. Smaller store with less assortment in most categories. They have 100 different kinds of t shirts and ball caps in both camo and pink camo but didn't have any hunting vests in blaze nor did I see any blaze hunting coats. I guess camo is such a way of life down there it creates more income than actual useful hunting clothes so that's what they carry. I asked one of the many sales staff helping on the floor why they had so little assortment for upland bird hunters and he seemed puzzled and asked if people hunted birds much here? I just walked away shaking my head . If you are expecting something better than Basspro you will be disappointed. The "Gun Library" is a joke. I have been to American Cabelas stores and they have actual gun libraries with interesting and high end stuff. I have some stuff in my gun vault that is nicer than what they display. This room is a waste of valuable retail space and my guess will be re-merchandised in no time to something useful. they have a better in stock level right now for the opening but so did Basspro when they started. Overall, not impressed. If at all possible I will still buy as much of my stuff from Epps, Gagnon's and yes even LeBaron's. At least they are Canadian owned.

I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Trombley's in Orillia is as good as any big box store.

I'm not too concerned with the store really, I do most of my big item purchases online. With Cabelas you can have stuff shipped from other stores to this one, free of charge. Plus now I will save even more on shipping since I'm only an 1.5 hours from Barrie, Cheaper than driving my truck there.
