This seems to be a general disease of Cabela's in Canada. Look at what's on cabelas.ca in that regard and compare to cabelas.com.

I have been to the Sydney Nebraska one and there is no comparison.
Problem in Canada is the market isn't there.

People complaining about not shopping there because you can't bring your dog in, really?? give your head a shake. Do you not shop at grocery stores because you can't bring your dog in?? how about a mall or restaurant? When I worked for the city their were talks of Cabelas opening here in Peterborough. They wanted it to between Toronto and Ottawa/Kingston area. The City of Barrie though gave them a better offer

A nice thing about Cabelas is that they allow you to handle guns without having to produce your PAL.

I don't fit my dog for a neoprene vest in a grocery store, and I don't recall anyone posting they would not shop there because of this (I could be wrong). I believe the point was many people would visit there as they passing through to go North, but if they had a dog in the car they may be unable to (as they won't leave the dog in the car, in the sun) many do take their dogs North.

Sorry but your comments are just not accurate. Big box stores are put in certain locations based on market research and economic studies based on population and income of the population. All about the money. Premium brands are available at big box stores because they have higher incomes and higher populations.

SAIL, hands down, has become my favourite of the big box outdoors stores. I never find inventory lacking, and they seem to carry what I actually want, instead of aisle upon aisle of the same kind of item in a slightly different format. Some stores seem to have a lot of "stuff", but none of it I actually want.

And yet the "greatest" gunshop in Canada (Epps) doesnt even display their ammo. At all. Its ridiculous. Its in a back room accessible by staff only. Simmons in Hamilton has it right; its displayed in a normal aisle on a normal shelf. You can wander around the store and pick up the boxes as you will. You can open them up and look at the bullets if you want.

Don't do that....guy lost his dogs. Someone cut the lock and stole them. Heard some jerk put another persons horses( yes they have horse pens too in the states) in his empty trailer and drove away with them.
just drove up loaded them and drove off.
