    Default Two days on Nipissing

Had a couple of days on Nipissing last week. I usually get up once in late May or early June but it's been about 20 years since I've fished it in July.

Usually a tougher bite when this happens:

and there was a caddis hatch as well for good measure.

Combined with a solid walleye chop:

The fishing had to be great.

    Bass on top:

    Shallow walleye on crayfish cranks:

Deeper walleye on same crayfish crank behind a bottom bouncer:

Jointed original minnow behind a bottom bouncer:

Slow death behind the bottom bouncer:

    Casting a cicada:

    Casting an x-rap shallow:

Needs to find a hat that fits and he likes:

    Nipissing sunrise:

looks like a fun vacation. And they are saying there are no walleye left in the lake. Someone lied.

We've done well in our limited times on the lake the last 6-7 years. We've really changed locations and tactics though.

That looks like a great trip.
Way to keep on them, it must be tough having to relocate fish year after year when you are there for only a few days, nicely done.

Did most of your fish come on hardbaits?
Heeere fishy fishy fishy fishy! :fish:

Yep. I used the slow death with a gulp worm a little bit and got a few small ones, but other then that, all lures. Didn't jig any either. I switched completely to scented plastics 10-15 years ago if I have to slow down but our best/most/consistent fish have all been on lures.

Looks like a blast. Loving the sun glass tan LOL!
And she thinks we’re just fishin’ on the riverside, throwin’ back what we could fry. Drownin’ worms and killin’ time, nothin’ too ambitious.
