    I used to property manage for the Racetracks when I got out of the Army. As good as I treated the uppers and leather of the boots, The soles and area they attached would always fall apart due to the high alkalinity of the stall areas. I can only guess it would have the same degrading effect on any glue.
    "Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.
