Repairing boots

...maybe wearing my boots in the muck, crime, manure and water everyday cleaning barn stalls etc abuses my footwear more than your's.....

I used to property manage for the Racetracks when I got out of the Army. As good as I treated the uppers and leather of the boots, The soles and area they attached would always fall apart due to the high alkalinity of the stall areas. I can only guess it would have the same degrading effect on any glue.
