Antler growth timeframe?...

Just wondering when the bucks start growin their antlers back
i have a couple on cam 2 bucks are small maybe 10" spikers
and then i have one that has a massive rack and is already a 12pointer
will this guy likely get bigger or be done by now?

The antlers start growing back almost immediately after they shed them.....most should be at there peek now with full velvet .....I seen a nice 8 pointer 2 weeks ago in full velvet......not quite sure when they shed the velvet, probably start rubbing and scraping it off soon though I would think

About a month left of growing still. They keep growing and harden a lot til Mid september when they start to shed their velvet.


A 12 point buck will have all his points right now, but he could still growth tine and main beam length/mass.

I have seen antlers while turkey hunting, from a distance I thought it had 4 ears. Had to get the glasses out to see what was up. So in mid May the ones I have seen are about the same length as their ears.

I saw a deer scouting on one of the pieces of property I hunt that had a massive velvet rack on it yesterday. I believe it may be "Hightower" from last year and if it is I'll be holding a tag just for him he was easy 130" deer last year and through the spotting scope Wednesday night he's grown up a lot

You'll get growth, thought slower now thru to September, velvet stats to shed/rub off as the weather begins to cool, sounds like you have a goal to achive this year, good luck and let us know how you make out.

As the antlers grow their's a bulb at the end of the antler.once it disappears it's finish growing.
