One of these years I will find myself on a similar trek - just need to make sure I can spare the vacation days!

    Cheers
Make sure you don't just keep talking about it! Make it happen or it will always be next year, next year etc....
If you are looking for a nice river, the Missinaibi is a fun one for sure. If you need more info about doing the trip, I can help you out.

I would have loved if there were less bugs, but what you loose in frustration from the bugs in june, you will gain in frustration from walking so much in august. The Moose river is very shallow, and a few spots we went, we would have had to walk if there was 6" less water. And id rather not walk lol. The water levels were great in june, and warm if you went for a swim. Its a win win (Minus the bugs, but hey, you get used to them).

The bugs were insane yes, but they way I found best to deal with the itching is to either not scratch, or scratch so much that it bleeds. Then at that point, it hurts so much to scratch that you wont want to anymore lol.

But we had bug jackets, and those were great when we pulled over for the night and set up camp. Making and eating supper would have really sucked without them.

I spend a lot of time in Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany, Kash, Attawapiskat, and Peawanuck

Moose Factory is my favorite, the island is beautiful, the people are very friendly.

Not as nice as a paddle up the moose, but here was my ride up the moose river today courtesy of two 150HP outboards.
