Tried to email Jim, but his email seems to have issues, so I emailed Cara regarding signing up. I hope to be at the Luther training day on the 10th. Looks like $35 to join the chapter?
No NAVHDA testing in the future, so the $55 does not apply?

As far as I know for the training days it's ten dollars for the day per handler to subsidize grounds maintenance and you have to bring your own birds or make arrangements with Jim to get on a bird order and no bobwhite quail.
Why no NAVHDA testing in the future?

Thanks trkyhntr. I tried Jim's email from the website but it loaded dozens of compose emails on my desk top...twice. So not sure what's going on there. Is there a # someone can pm me?
Don't really foresee breeding him, and really nothing to prove in testing. He is what he is.

$55 sounds pretty reasonable - I spend that biweekly on birds lmao

Test to evaluate your training, a hunt test is as close to a hunting situation as you can get without actually hunting. Why not find out where you are at with your dog prior to hunting season as opposed to trying to make corrections while hunting in the fall.

He's been well trained so far. See attached Youtube vid of him a week ago, at 5 months old.

NOW....of course the training is not complete, ergo my foray into the NAVHDA training group. Not saying I'm against testing him, not convinced there is a need for it. Never been to a NAVHDA meet so all of this is new to me. Of course any advice is welcome.

NAVHDA are very well organized and active people. Can't think of a better setup group actually, certainly not in the pointing dog world. I can't see you being involved with them as a bad thing.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

So emails have not been returned, although they previously they said to 'show up' at the training session to met and greet.
Where at Luther do they meet?

Sorry to hear your emails didn't get responded to! I am a board member with OGR and sent you a PM with some details.
Let me know if there is anything I can help with.
