Default The SJ 4000 - GoPro alternative (review))

So guys, have not had time to use this on a hunt or fish. Got it in June (took longer than I expected to get - 5 weeks). I won't make this too long. It's an excellent alternative to the Go Pro. I paid $127 including shipping (no tax applied). This included a ton of accessories, most of which are actually interchangeable with Go Pro. Paid a few bucks extra for the car mount and an extra battery. You can get their 32 GB card or got to Tiger Direct and pay $20 for the 10 class 32. Video is excellent IMO. Now when you watch this video I put together, keep in mind that the quality was lost in the transfer to Photobucket. It is actually much crisper. Thanks for watching. Also, if you want a much better professional review, check out this one: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2014/2/...ra-review.html

Looks good splaker! Looking forward to some post hunting clips!

Probably the same companies that make the components for GoPro building their own off the molds/plans.

I just wish I can transfer the vids without losing the quality. I am not exaggerating when I say the quality is very good. Extremely clear with vivid colours. My wife is about to give birth - our first child - so I am not going to be hunting quite as much this fall. But I will get out there for sure. I will try to post some interesting vids when I do.

The review I cut and pasted by techmoan is very thorough.

    Keep y'all posted.

I believe I raised this point when we were discussing the camera's before your purchase, that there are no sites (that I am aware of) that don't compress and reduce the frame and bit rates of videos when uploaded, so side by side comparissons online, aren't really a good judge as you're not seeing true picture.

That being said, also have to take into account your audience, and what they are viewing on. My GoPro's can shoot in 2k and 4k, but unless you're coming over to my house to watch on my Ultra HD TV then that doesn't really matter.

So I just shoot in 1080.

In the end, just comes down to what someone is willing to pay for established names and brands.

But looks like you found a great deal on a quality cam.
