I have been paining over the same decission whether to go with the Shimano 2500CI4+ or and Pfleuger Patriarch ,I had the 2 of them in my hand at the same time and it took me some time and I still don't know if i made the right decission or not ,but because I've had a few shimano's in my day ,I went with the Stradic CI4+ ,but I will end up with the Patriarch eventually .

I have both.
They both are very solid and well engineered. Fleuger's bail system is surprisingly crisp. However, the drag system performance on the Stradic is revolutionary, imho, and the dependability is second to none.
My choice is, and always will be, the Stradic. But the Fleuger performs well, and i have not experienced any issues.

I've had the supreme xt and the patriarch but IMHO nothing can compete with my stradic ci4+, paired it up with a Fenwick aetos rod and I can not say enough about the combo!!
