No I want a traditional Flintlock....my question was just curiosity to find out if guys have tried shooting T7/Pyrodex out of their Flinter's.
I was looking an absolutely beautiful, custom made Flintlock that my buddy's Dad owns on Sun.....the sad thing is he's a collector not a shooter....chances are this gun will never fire a patch and ball thru it.
My hunt continues....

Ahhhh, you wishes fer a fancy gun does ya? LOL Me too but they're outside my budget at the moment. A TVM is on my wish list for sure. The main thing as I understand it, is that the sub's are harder to ignite. I have used T7 and Pyrodex in my caplocks (Lyman GPH / TC Renegade) and it has worked fine.
I'll let you know how I fair out with T7 in my flintlock. (Lyman GPR)
They are both considered "Traditional" in function. In looks, somewhat like a Hawken/Missouri rifle.

I shot a TRADITIONS flinter for about 5 years then gave it to a family member......tried all kinds of propellant.......setteled on 3F goex main charge and in the pan.......... I used only good quality ENGLISH FLINTS from PELOUSE TRADING CO. Idaho/ opened up the hole in the insert and coned the inside/ deeoened and polished the pan.......after which I NEVER,repeat,NEVER had another miss fire and ignition was very fast........ JIM SHOCKEY,who has a guiding service here on the island, sells his GOLD......I tried it without success in my smokepole. in a caplock its a different story.........but I have a LYMAN TRADE RIFLE, a SAFARI,arms HAWKINS and a T/C new Englander all 50 cal. AND I USE 3F in all 3. on occasion I have used 2 f ......but FFFG has been the way toi go for me....JMHO

Has too much time on their hands
Welcome to the Forum, Glenno. Have you seen Huntaway's "3 shot challenge" thread for muzzle loaders?
