A little off topic but a couple of weeks ago my pup picked up and swallowed a cigarette butt. She started acting drunk and then I couldn't keep her awake. I did a buck 60 all the way to the Brantford emergency vet on a Saturday evening where she eventually threw it up on her own. It was quite a scare, and vet bill, but she is ok. I was really thinking I might lose her. Cigarette butts are no joke and they can certainly kill a pup.

Thanks for the reminder. Someone else posted about their dog getting nicotine poisoning too. As I've said before, there are MANY things out there that are a hazard to a dog. Live long enough, have enough dogs, and you'll have experienced some of them. I only have one dog that gets sidewalk walks and I have to be on the look out .

First dose of nicotine will turn anybody green.
I would have been more worried about the fiberglass traveling through the pups system.
Wifes cats used to love drinking the dark brown butt tea in the outside ashtrays. Kind of strange how any being can be attracted to the stuff. The cats would actually fight over the tray. And yes there was plenty of fresh water out for them.
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

They were probably hooked on nicotine after building up a tolerance to it. I wouldn't be surprise if that was the case anyway.
