I know we have a couple instructors here, however I know a couple personally and will shoot them an email to ask what they'd do in a similar situation.

Your best bet is to visit http://www.ohep.net/Courses.cfm?ID=1
find a few instructors in your area (it lists their contact details) and just call them and ask.
I did my Turkey course 1 on 1 because I was the only one taking it.

My son has learning disabilities and would have been unable to complete the course by himself. The instructors allowed me to sit with him during the entire course and work with him to assure he understood what they were saying. He was able to complete the tests on his own, however if he wasn't I am sure that one of the instructors would have done the test one on one with him to make sure he completed it. I think you would find most instructors willing to help. My son has now been hunting with me for the past 12 years. Tell your friend good luck.

well they have been unsuccessfull in finding a one on one instruction for a one stop course . and have not been to even obtain a price as they are sure it will be more expensive for a one on one .

thanks for the replies and pm messages .. the ohep was very help full in giving me advice for the one on one course just have not found someone as of yet.. i fully understand that this is a busy time for instructors and do not want to take them away from the needs of many for one person ... they would be upset if 15 to 20 people could not go out hunting because 1 person took up the instructors time . this year the child will hunt with me and learn the ropes again as he has been doing it for 3 years but due to illness has not had the ambition to do course as he has faild last year highschool do to over 97 days missed in one semestar . thanks for all the help. and once again the ohep was more than helpful in suggestions

I have a learning disability also and i was so nervous that i wouldn't be able to pass the hunting course and the firearms course but i did a great job especially on the firearms practical test i got 100 percent , i did the courses last year and i guess i was more nervous at the tests and having alot of people in the same room other than that i had a great time and the instructors i had were awesome.

well after a few dozen pm and emails from the ofah we have come up with the child doing a course with a insturctor for numourse weeks with the other classes for instance if he can do 3 hours he will do the first three hours and when the instructor does another course he will come in 3 hours late and then keep coming back for the course untill it is completed. this could take him about 8-15 weeks to complete but at least he will get his licence but unfortunatly not this year as the deer season and most of hunting season may be over . we stil need mnr aproval for this and am waiting for there response . At least next year we will have another hunter in the woods enjoying our favorite pass time with us .. thanks to all of those that have pm me and i have passed the emails and pms off to the parents
