Here is the form letter I received back after E-mailing my concerns, about Industry Canada not approving Garmins for use in Canada. They are sweeping it under the rug. Everyone needs to send them the form letter from a previous post and request a reply so they can't just press the delete button.

Thank you for your email of August 31, 2014, regarding implementation of the Multi-User Radio Service (MURS) in Canada. I appreciate you taking the time to share your views.

On an ongoing basis, Industry Canada reviews how spectrum can be used in Canada. As you are aware, in 2009, we determined that a new form of low-power, two-way radio, called the Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS), would be permitted for use in Canada in June 2014.

As much has changed in the past five years, it is now unclear whether there is sufficient market demand for MURS devices to justify displacement of thousands of other licensed radio users across Canada, including essential public safety services. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the introduction of MURS devices until such market demand becomes clear.

Thank you for your valuable contribution toward this objective. I can assure you that our government will continue to pursue telecommunication policies that put the interest of Canadians first.
    Please accept my best wishes.

    Sincerely,

I got the same letter in print form from a Lynne Fancy at Industry Canada. I've written her twice to prove their data is not correct. I've had no reply. Write them, tell them how much demand there is, write your local MP. Hounds people are still buying them and importing the units. This can be beaten.
