Ozone generators work. That's science. Do I believe they will make a difference 15' up in a tree, no. But for treating your gear between hunts, they will eliminate odor causing bacteria and microorganisms. Thanks for sharing this link smitty55.

I believe it would help. And would be more similar to the field and stream test where the 'hunter' was in a box. However, if you look into the affects of ozone on a persons lungs, you may reconsider wanting to breath it in during your hunt.

That Sitka stuff is really expensive. It comes on sale @ camofire half price but don't know how they size. How do you like it. Are they really mobile.

It's expensive and getting bulkier by the season. 7 or 8 years ago it was the only thing available. Nowadays they are owned by big business and profit margins hurt it's innovation and price point. I wouldn't give you a nickel for any of the fanatic series. Kuiu and first lite are companies leaving Sitka in the dust as far as quality and design go. I've owned Sitka pieces.. All have failed prematurely.

Don't take my work for it, I rarely use the stuff.
Is it for everyone? Nope.
Is it worth the price they charge? Hard to say, depends on many things I guess. Can say, there are all kinds of hardcore hunters, guides who spend crazy amounts of hours in some of the harshest places relying on it.

I can say, I wont buy anything but and I do have pieces that are years old and like new. And when I show people those pieces, let them inspect seems, knees, zippers, more. They have a hard time believing me when I tell them how old it is, and how many hours hard use Ive put into them

To each his own.
Not a plug for Sitka...there are other options and I will not try to "sell anyone on it" it is really expensive

Good read. I bought a Log6 ozone generator years ago at Erie Tracker when they first came out, and was sure it was gonna be the next big thing. Like the guy writing the article said, I feel at a serious disadvantage without it. Never wash my clothes during the season anymore. Just throw them in a tote, and let them ozone for 30 mins. Done.

Have never used scent blocking clothing in the past, I did purchase the Bass Pro Tech Softshell with Zeolight technology, I would not have purchased it at full cost but did want some quiet, soft, warm camo for bow hunting, this was on sale for half so grabbed complete set for 100$. I will still play the wind and do all the things that I would normally do but perhaps this little tweek will provide an extra advantage. Guess we'll find out come October.

$$$ spent on a good harness is far better spent than $$$ on scent blocking clothes.

I generally wear fleece and wool as much as possible. I picked up a cheap pair of camo fleece pants and a matching hoodie for deer hunting. I slap a blaze vest over top. Underneath, I wear whatever clothes I happen to put on that day. Fleece give/mitts complete the list. I wash my hunting clothes the night before in borax to help reduce the scent trail from the clothes. Borax is cheap, a cereal sized box is about $50 and would last me two or three years of washing hunting clothes. My daughters wear a uniform for school, so it is also used to help keep the whites white without having to bleach all the time.

My hunting area has many of the trails semi-brushed out in late august or early September. I usually have a west wind and that works well for walking into my watch which is about 60 feet above the forest floor in a natural, protected "cutout" in the edge of a rock ridge. The wind generally blows my scent well over the deer and most of them come in near the base of the ridge. They don't think to look that high up for danger, generally don't smell me and I have the ridge behind me covered with junipers and oak trees to prevent them from seeing my silhouette against the sky.

My hunting partner smokes and we get covered in outboard exhaust on the way out to our hunt area. We are seeing in the neighbourhood of 6-20+ deer over usually about seven days of hunting. This year, maybe not so much considering our tough winter. Watching the wind is the biggest factor in scent control, not some BS marketing...
