Default Round ball vs cut lead; gelatine tests, accuracy, ballistics, historical background

If you have 10 minutes to spare, this is an interesting video done to compare using a round ball vs a square hunk of lead.

The historical info/data alone is worth learning and the results are somewhat surprising.

That's an interesting video. I'd never heard of the Turks using "square" bullets.

Have you heard of the Puckle Gun? An early multi-shot cannon that used round balls for Christians and "sguare" bullets against the Turks.

I had never heard of the Puckle Gun Pete......neat that they used the square bullets for the exact reason that the video proves out.

Puckle demonstrated two versions of the basic design: one, intended for use against Christian enemies, fired conventional round bullets, while the second variant, designed to be used against the Muslim Turks, fired square bullets. The square bullets were considered to be more damaging. They would, according to the patent, convince the Turks of the "benefits of Christian civilization." The square bullets, however, were discontinued due to their unpredictable flight pattern
