Quebec trip
Hi everyone. Ive recently just found out my brother in law has family in quebec with 500acres. Planning on a trip once he gets his license. Anyone have experiences over there. How is it to get tags and out of residents licenses? Thanks in advance

The out of province license may not be cheap but for the opportunity to hunt a well managed natural resource it is well worth the dollars. If for example I compare a moose hunt where in my case I can be in the bush in 2 hours in a ZEC with exclusive territory compared to driving 16 hours up north with fuel prices being what they are and be shoulder to shoulder with a whole bunch of other Ontarians due to adult tag allocation it is a no brainer. Buy the license and enjoy your hunt!

I own 800 acres on the Quebec side, there are some great hunting to be had over here, what area will you be hunting. One of the draw backs about hunting in Quebec is the fact noresidents can not hunt turkey and also a outfitter is needed for bear,

They live in area 13. I got a response from their mnr and they said a non resident for small game is 92 bucks. Bear is 162.

I have property in zone 13. The grouse are plentiful, and the fishing is good.
The $92 is a bit of a kick in the crotch though. I got one last year, and did have a good couple of days out for grouse, I'm only hunting Ont this year.
It kind of ticks me off that I own property there, pay all kinds of taxes, and yet am not able to get a residents license. QC is one of the only provinces that doesn't allow seniors to fish free. My dad still pays $65 every year.
As you're hunting on privately owned land, you'll be ok, but for others, it might be good to mention that QC doesn't have Crown land use atlases. It's a dicey situation, when you've been told something is Crown, but you're now standing there trying to communicate in French why you're in someone's prized spot ( true story, Police involved......I was in the right).
End of rant, drop the $$$, and enjoy the property.
