Most of those old ones also need a pressurized fuel tank unless they have been retrofitted with a fuel pump.
Those tanks in good condition can be hard & expensive to find.

Most of the stuff is available, but you need a working knowledge of the old ones as parts catalogs no longer go back that far. I'm in Buckhorn if you need a knowledgeable tech to help you resurrect one of those old girls.

Very. I believe BRP still sells the fittings, but they are over $100 each. Line can be had as well as the priming diaphragm.

Getting rings for the little Evenrude/Johnson motor is a major problem. They just won't idle without compression.

Takes a lot to wear out a set of rings in those things. Not to mention if it's that far gone, nobody is paying the labour to fix it.

Bought mine new in 69, was my main fishing motor until a few years ago....it's sitting on the back shelf of my mechanics shop just waiting...

Does anyone do rebuilds of old motors,I have a few I want to get rid of....an old 18 HP Johnson and a newer 9.9HP Evinrude let me know if you want them

Mine is a 2hp OMC. Mechanic tells me he has the parts but not the time.....season is over for the year now anyway. I do have an old 25Hp Elto from the fifties that is free to good home as well....
