Nobody in our neck of the woods would insure one. A buddy who is an insurance broker couldn't find anyone either.

Yup..that's what I was told...once the government deemed them 'unsafe' back in 98 (?) no insurance company would insure them...for obvious reasons.

I guess if you had insurance prior to that and never let your policy lapse, they may have been grandfather in with your policy...but I have never heard of a company providing new insurance for a vehicle that is classed as 'unsafe'....but maybe State Farm does.

I haven't touched anything OFAH other than this site that they took over , since the backroom deal they made over the cancellation of the spring bear hunt . Don't get me started Mike . LOL But yes through the OFMF and OFAH we insured three wheelers . My sled was $80 and bike was $84 at the time . My own insurance broker Stan Darling didn't want to touch it at the time unless I paid $600 so you know which way I went right ? lol You as a farmer can likely get something too maybe through OFA . Well maybe not you because your a badass , but bet your wife can . Just hand over the slip to that mint Big Red and I'll have it plated and insured the next day . Actually alot never had formal ownerships in the day till you registered them yourself . Just a bill of sale .

Try 1987, my friend bought mine off me in 2001 and insured it, again I'll check with him tonight but 99% sure it's with State Farm.
