I always go out for a few quick trips early in the season. Only managed one flush this year, pretty sad. I would like to think it's due to not having having my trusty GSP with me this year....... it was a great 12 years of wonderful hunting together.

Have fun,

Not my idea trust me. Have to go overseas for work during that time - no way out of it.

You could always resign. The woodcock migration is a very narrow window of oppurtunity. Just sayin.....
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Too early for woodcock?
Thanks to everyone for the advice, I am really looking forward to this season. I have done some off-season work with my 2 year old pup and she is ready to rock. Redbull I am sorry to hear about your hunting partner. Good luck to you and everyone else this year. I look forward to your stories and pictures. Sometimes work just gets in the way.

The only places I know for WC have such thick bushes that the only thing I can hope for is for the bird to get tangled on take-off ;-)
They don't identify themselves so I'm not sure if they are resident or "undocumented migrants".
P.S. Redbull - I feel your pain.
