Mike, by the sounds of it your neighbor won't have a problem getting his deer this season, no matter where you walk your dogs. Sounds like there's plenty of activity there. As someone said earlier... if they're in the field, they've passed his ambush anyway. The only reason you're giving it a second thought at all is because you're a hunter as well. Your neighbor is lucky for that. He could have moved in next to a vindictive anti or a non-hunter who wouldn't even realize that the season is open yet. All of this aside, farm deer are quite used to the activity and probably know your routine better than you know theirs.

"Ruined" is pretty subjective too, by the way. Your neighbor's idea of a "ruined" hunt might not be the same as mine or yours.

That's your property. Do what you wish. If he has a problem with it then he can move his stand but it seems he's fine with it since he hasn't mode his stand. Case closed.

Maybe you right, people obviously just didn't comprehend what I wrote and knee jerked off a response....

Still, some really bad attitudes out there...
Yes, its your property to do what you want. And you "feel sorry" for the guy....but not enough to do anything about it.

Will you be ok if your neighbour decides to call the MNR about your dogs running at large chasing deer during an open season??? Just a thought.....sometimes karma is a beeotch.

I too question why you would post this. Again, your property so walk where and when you want. But if you knew he was going to hunt opening morning, and you know what happens when you walk back there, but you still went anyways...........

I can't help but wonder what your neighbour really thinks of your actions.

..lol...I'll ask him if I see him over the weekend...I know he's going to enjoy some of the comments on here

OK Brent, So I'll put you in the the group that sets up a stand 200 yds of the walking trial in the public forest and then complains when a lady walks by with her dog......and then arrogantly complains they should put up sign to stop people from using the trails while your hunting.....LOL...

That's my take on it GW11....he's a trophy hunter, so he probably be looking for the Buck coming thru the bush 5 minutes before he has to get out of the stand. He said in the past he's not interested in the does/young bucks that would be in the fields this time of the year.

Funny thing, he's the type of guy that will feel bad that all this made me feel bad....

Actually, I don't hunt public land...you know nothing about me.

If you re read what I posted, I said it is your land...do what you want. And you have lived there longer by the sounds of it....and have every right to do what you want on your land...legally.

But don't kid yourself....you don't feel bad about what you are doing, so why try and sell that here??? Need your ego stroked or something????

Just remember there are lots of guys that won't tell a guy they think he is a douchebag, even when they think he is.....

And don't be so quick to say you aren't doing anything wrong.....But then again, you have made it clear in the past that you interpret the laws however you see fit.

    Dog running at large
    (3) The owner of a dog or any other person responsible for a dog shall not permit it to run at large,
    (a) during the open season for a species of big game in an area prescribed for the purpose of subsection (2); or
    (b) during the closed season for a species of big game in an area usually inhabited by that species. 2009, c. 33, Sched. 22, s. 2 (14).
