I always go out for a few quick trips early in the season. Only managed one flush this year, pretty sad. I would like to think it's due to not having having my trusty GSP with me this year....... it was a great 12 years of wonderful hunting together.

Now that's what I call a GOOD WEEK, how I envy you!!! Enjoy buddy, seems like the woodcock season is always too darn short!

    Have fun,

Not my idea trust me. Have to go overseas for work during that time - no way out of it.

You could always resign. The woodcock migration is a very narrow window of oppurtunity. Just sayin.....
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Thanks to everyone for the advice, I am really looking forward to this season. I have done some off-season work with my 2 year old pup and she is ready to rock. Redbull I am sorry to hear about your hunting partner. Good luck to you and everyone else this year. I look forward to your stories and pictures. Sometimes work just gets in the way.

The only places I know for WC have such thick bushes that the only thing I can hope for is for the bird to get tangled on take-off ;-)

They don't identify themselves so I'm not sure if they are resident or "undocumented migrants".

    P.S. Redbull - I feel your pain.

I flushed on in open field in Parry Sound district on my way out of my bear stand last weekend.

If you get any let me know how fully feather they are. Also if its raining don't forget to check under lone pine trees
