I dont think the op was douchy. Just strait forward. That was a generous offer and I hope it works out well as it sounds like a good opportunity. I mostly hunt crown land near Vankoughnet for bear, grouse and ducks and private for deer close to home on small properties otherwise I would love the opportunity offered by the op.

Same here. I think laying out a basic criteria for a hunting partner is the right way to cull out a lot of quasi-serious hunters.

Everything was looking good for me as a partner until I got to the mature requirement. Rats!!

Just by his attitude he would be the last person I would show any land to. But eh to each his own.
What is it that you do not understand by his statement ; " so im not looking for somebody to reveal their spots to me. "

By being straight forward , HE IS BEING CRITICISED !

I agree the OP sounds a little off putting. Offer would likely only appeal to desparate people as I have a hard time believing that anyone who already has a place theyre hunting would bother to take such a risk. Get rid of all the Must this Must that. Youre trying to be in a dominate position but when youre not offering anything, its not a good way to start a relationship.

I see it as a genuine request. I see a couple of issues though.
    - You do not mention the species you want to hunt together. Important, since, for example, some people have bird land, but no deer land.
    - You say you are not after anyone's spots and will not show yours. Sounds honourable, but then where would you actually hunt together?

Nothing wrong with the original post, posting criteria is great too.
I don't know why you guys are against a fact of the matter post like that?

The only thing I don't like is you'll never know how sincere the responses will be on internet with pseudo names....

This must be another episode of 'Housewifes of the backwoods'.

    LOL

No offence but this guy is scared of his own shadow. Lighten up buddy - hunting is - among other things - about friendships and good times. Not only about the chase and kill - ooops - "harvest" for our liberal comrades.
