my wifes f150 is a 2008 with the 4.6 and I find it a little lazy ,now the new 5;iter I just love seems to get better fuel milage then the smaller motor

The fuel mileage has come a long ways for sure. I have my 09 with the 5.4L and the fuel mileage was good as long as it was highway. then when the warranty expired I put in a bully dog fuel and performance programmer and it got even better. It has a 132L tank in it and I'm not getting roughly mid 10s on the higheay (no load or trailer) approx 1100 km a tank.

The new ecoboost takes the cake with regards to fuel economy though. and lots of power for towing

I also like the thought of the light duty diesel. Ford is also exploring that direction. However I'm hard pressed to believe they can get the same mileage as my new focus lol. kudos to them if they can
