Default Georgian Bay, hunting on an island

I have a cottage on Georgian bay, their is a deserted island near out cottage that has all types of waterfowl surrounding it throughout the day. Can i hunt on it? its very small, basically a rock outcropping. Are there any rules or regs that would not allow me to hunt on an island? Ive read the regs a few times and cant find anything.

    thanks

If you made every effort to determine its not private you can hunt it. Even though it may look abandon if its private you can't access the ground without permission but in a boat hunting water you should be ok.

It may be freely accessed as long as it's not posted. If someone shows up claiming to be the owner and tells you to leave, then, you must, forthwith, or face "trespassing to hunt" charges. The onus is on the hunter to determine if,in fact, the claimant wasn't lying. If he/she was, then a criminal complaint may be laid against them for "mischief" and under the FWCA for "interfering with lawful hunting." This only applies if you climb out of the boat onto the land because nobody may own the water (except in very rare circumstances.)
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

I would assume, interfering with a lawful hunt? However you would need to locate the person after the fact and prove this took place.

I was told that this would be a criminal code offence dealing with intimidation, much the same as claiming that you have the authority to order someone off of public land.
