Pop ups
so those popup hideouts, are they water proof? I was thinking I could use it for a tent and literally just sleep there for the night.

Waterproof? No. Water repellant, yes. I have hunted out of them in the rain and it does leak through at some point. They double as ice fishing huts though.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I have done it before. If it pours you're gonna get wet. You could put a tarp over it for the night and remove the tarp before legal shooting starts. On mine you have to sleep on the diagonal to lay flat or otherwise you have to sleep with your legs bent or curled up on your side.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

If it doesn't rain I might give it a try.

I give mine a coating of waterproofing every fall and it stays dry inside when it is raining!

Mine keeps most of the rain out. Some water will come in the windows due to the dome shape. Now if it is a blowing rain.....good luck.
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Well I just bought one of those military sleeping bags so cold temp won't be an issue. I'm planning to hunt the second week of Nov.

TSC has one that is a tent and a blind in this weeks flyer. It has a floor and shoot thru screens, you may want to check it out. It's on page 9.

I'd rather be fishing! Unless you want to go hunting!

I have the ameristep doghouse. Pretty close to being waterproof. There is no floor though - and they are small - maybe 5x5 or so.
