    Default Doodles....

Because one active woodcock thread is not enough.

Since the flights seem to be starting, how about we share some woodcock pix. Here's my success of the morning. Quite pleased with the dog who has become deadly efficient both at putting them up and finding them when I knock them down. Also, I have found that losing 40 pounds has improved the gun fit, so now I actually hit them!

Well done. make sure you give the pup a treat tonight.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

No, 18 flushes, but the ratio is improving significantly.

    An hour north of London.

CZ Bobwhite 20 ga ... bought that based on Terry's positive reviews and it does seem to be working for me this fall.

The pup doesn't need a treat, Terry ... she found, killed and ate a whole nest full of baby mice this morning. Then she wanted to share my lunch. I said, "What? You didn't offer me any mice!"

I really like my Browning Silver semi 20 gauge but that CZ looks to be a very nice gun. What were you using before you got the CZ ?

A full limit. Very well done. I could only hope for a 50/50 success ratio. Right now I'm batting about 5/95 or so.

My all-round gun has been a 12 ga BPS, but it's a bit heavy for upland shootkng ... I got the CZ for a lighter, faster pointing gun.

    That's a great afield.
