Old Bird Dogs
You get a well bred dog , you do your best at the training and if you're lucky you get to enjoy them for many years.
We went out to day to warm up on some pigeon in prep for going to Hullet to work on some pheasant. They hadn't missed a beat. Such a pleasure.
Tessa - 13 1/2
her daughter Lady - 9
( no high tails on boring pigeon , only on pheasant, woodcock and grouse.
Feel free to show your old bird dogs/retrievers/hounds if you have some.

Nice going Sharon. I hope those dogs keep pointing birds for you for a few more seasons to come!
My GSP is just 14 months old and has a lot to learn.
We just went on our first real hunt together last week, but I so hope to hunt with him for as long as possible...

Very nice.
It's amazing how they still have the same desire / passion when it comes to birds/retrieving. My old girl can't manage the stairs anymore, but can still jog along for an hour looking for birds. She quite likely will go down for good one day in the field, but I'd rather have that than on the vet's table.

I think a lot of us share that same hope!
That looks like Kirk Cousins? If so, we would have just missed you. Did you come across the dead goose?
