New outboard!
Looking at buying a new tiller. 40hp.
My Yamaha F30 tiller is an 2003 model.
I've been thinking of going to the 40 with power trim.
Is there enough difference to make the purchase?
Will I get more speed and power? cc are the same.
I'm a Yamaha outboard guy. But Suzuki is something
interesting. Anybody run these motors? The Canadian and
American spec on the 40 Suzuki are different as far as cc and HP.
Any input would be appreciated!
thanks

Just the power trim will make a big difference for you the extra 10 hp will help in top end! What kind of boat are you running!

I've got an F40 tiller with the gas assist lift, no effort required to tilt the motor up. So far I'm quite happy with the motor. Before buying I also looked at the new Suzuki, you're right, Cdn/US specs are different, but another excellent motor. That and the dealer was a whole lot further away.

Suzuki makes a great engine, but they suck as far as service and support in Canada as dealers a few and far between.

If the Yamaha has power trim and the Suzuki has a lift "assist" I would go with the Yamaha power trim makes a huge difference!
