I was out last week. The bog is very wet and still quite thick. Too thick for the dog to work.

Beau, are you hunting solo, or with a bud? That area down there seems like a busy area. Depends on how far you are willing to travel to get away from things. There are some good crown areas west of town as well. Where I hunted for a dozen years, it was solid bush and swamp for a long way from the north shore of a lake with nary a farm or anything around. These critters are not used to people, it's different hunting.
Like Mike said, you are best to stay clear of going in blind anywhere during rifle season. Most crown land has had established deer camps for a long, long time, and usually camps respect each others "territory" during the gun season.

    Good luck with it. Cheers

Hey Beau_cates. Talk to the owner of Log Cabin orchard near Osgoode, he has used hunters in the past to stop the decimation of the apple trees. there are plenty of places to hunt on private land IF you are willing to do the leg work and talk to the land owners. it might be a little late now for gun season but still plenty of time if you are a bow hunter. drop me a PM and we can talk

Heya Beau. The area I know well was the north shore of White Lake. Lots of crown land. Quite busy the first week of rifle season. Your best bet to start would be to check out the crown land use policy atlas at http://www.giscoeapp.lrc.gov.on.ca/w...er/Viewer.html.

    Cheers

1 part private, 1 part Conservation Authority and 1 part crown. Depends on exactly where you mean.
