What birds/ducks/ rabbits has your hunting dog found for you this Fall?
Can't shoot anymore ( have to live on 50 years of memories), but we had a fun time finding woodcock this Fall. How'd you do?
(Pics of your dog if possible?)

The labs are used for waterfowl and pheasant but the other day when they were finally completing the removal of the barn the old girl got on to some rabbits. She even barked as she gave chase. Husband also had to take several mice away from her.

Has too much time on their hands
10 wood duck, 3 mallards, 1 goose, 2 pheasant, and 2 bunnies today. Then all the training birds leading up pigeons, pheasants , chukars, and ducks. Considering she just turned 1 year old I'm happy with her progress. I decided to keep a hunting diary so I won't forget.

That's a good idea. I wished I'd done that over the years. I did keep all the trial placement info though , which still gives me great pleasure.

I have a 4 year old lab and so far we have had a great season he has retrieved over 40 ducks and close to 20 geese most of the geese in fields and all the ducks from beaver ponds. We have only hunted grouse once but he flushed 3 all together and I shot one and he retrieved it. Snowing hard here right now so grouse and rabbit hunting to come and maybe a few more duck hunts.

A bad day hunting is still better than a good day at work!
