Garmin GPS basemaps
If you're using a Garmin 62s or Astro GPS, here are some basemaps that are waaaaay better than the Canadian topo maps. $150 for the microSD.

I'm in the market for a 62s, was looking at the TOPO Ontario map pack from TrakMaps. Would this Backroads version be considered more inclusive? I know that the scale for both is similar - not sure if anyone has had any experience using the TrakMaps version.
Searching for the thrill...

Not sure what trakmaps has. There's a pretty good description of backroads Ontario at the link I gave.

I have Trak Maps and Garmin. Trak Maps has much more detail and accuracy. Has far greater detail , even has Ontario fishing zones on it. I am considering Birdseye for coyote hunting in the agricultural area. Just need some confidence about downloading onto my hard drive or SD card.
A local Ottawa retailer has Trak Maps for a better price than on line.

I checked out all those maps for my 62s. In the end I got the ibycus topo Canada map, FREE!. I find it accurate with plenty of detail. I always :research and add custom layers of my hunting areas anyway. If interested ibycus topo Canada can be downloaded as a torrent using bittorrent all absolutely free.
It does not have all the logging roads or marked wmu's but it's free. Besides it's east to add these by marking them on Google earth and exporting them to your device. Another free map I find useful is Ontario trails.

Forgot to mention that ibycus topo Canada is far more up to date and may be more accurate than Garmin's Canada topo maps.
