Had rice lake freeze right before my eyes today. theres still open water just not infront of my blind. Dekes were frozen in the ice and had a hell of a time getting them all back with the canoe.Ended up breaking 2 paddles!

Has too much time on their hands
Man, complaining is the last thing I'm doing in this weather! Find the open water boys, the birds are there!
All this snow will be gone this weekend anyway, and we'll all be back on the lake.

I hear ya guys. I was surprised to roll out last weekend to a half frozen pond which prevented us from getting where we wanted, and this weekend itll likely be almost froze over.
sure itll melt after the upcoming temps, but us small water guys just lost the bulk of our birds I bet, not to mention Saturday will be a write off for most small waters.
oh well. I guess we gotta get out and find some more birds. it would be nice to get one layout blind field hunt in this year!! but I did just get some new waders and really wanna put them to the test in the water!!
My name is BOWJ..... and I am a waterfowl addict!

If it isn't the quick freeze messing up duck hunting, then its the high wind speed screwing with rabbit hunting. I guess ill have to spend time with my wife...

My preferred type of "duck hunting " is working the small ponds and creeks , where I don't have to argue with guy's that want to set up close to me and shoot over "my decoys", to each their own.
