This is the recipe that I use for both duck and goose meat for a buddy of mine that loves waterfowl hunting but didn't like the taste. This is a standby on all of pour hunting/fishing trips now. Soaking the meat in milk in the fridge overnight also helps to draw out some of the blood and strong taste.

You just need enough BBQ sauce to cover the meat a couple of cm while it cooks.

yea what Jmatthews said. my crock pot happens to take that many bottles yours might take more or less. I should have been more clear. Basically if the goose is covered by bbq sauce you are good to go.

also Jmatthews thanks for the tip with the milk will have to do that next time. I have never had it with duck meat yet. I most likely wont use it with puddle ducks because i love just pan frying them. But i feel like this recipe could be good for diver ducks as i am not to fond of their taste.

I use this technique as well...however...here's a slight variation...

4-6 goose breasts sliced 1/2" thick
cover in apple juice plus 1/2" extra
on high in the slow cooker for 6 hours
drain all apple juice and pull the meat apart
add sweet/sour sauce to cover plus 1"
(S/S brown sugar, ketchup, dry mustard, Lea/Perrins, wee bit of apple juice)
cook on low for 2 - 3 hours
in the last hour fry bacon...lightly toast Callabrese type buns
add romaine lettuce and Rene's salad dressing
pile up the pulled goose...you're good to go...

One of the best sandwiches you'll ever have...
