Hello and welcome to the site.

Posts like yours (and you made 4) are a dime a dozen around these parts. Don't be upset if this is the only reply you get.

Guys generally won't give away "their" spots. Finding hunting land in Southern Ontario is a hunt all its own.

Guys generally won't take out a newb they don't know (there are a few exceptions).

My suggestion is to find out if your area has a fish and game club, also called conservation clubs or rod and gun clubs. Meet up with people there. See if you can find a mentor.

If you stick around here and join the community ask questions answer posts you feel qualified to answer. Develop a presence that demonstrates your character you may find help here....but not with a "Hi I'm new...where can I hunt?" type of post

There are many threads here on how to gain permission to hunt Private land as well as how to find crown.

Ontario Crown Land Atlas, the hunt begins, good luck. You are in Trenton so that is a little to far for me to invite you.

Your closest MNR office could steer you in the direction of crown land.

Does your local newspaper have an "Outdoors" type column? Those writers often have a good knowledge of local hunting areas.

    Yeah... You're on your own.
I found people pretty tight lipped re hunting spots, especially private land... And all I want to do is shoot groundhogs.
It took a little time and legwork, but after two or so seasons into it I have managed to secure several hundred acres of good 'hog fields. 'Some of it "exclusive" in that I'm the only guy allowed on it.
And now I understand and have joined in the silence.

Crown land should be easy to find... There are maps.

    Good luck

    From X eaon X Post
I figured it was time there was a list created that had all of the public areas someone could hunt in Ontario. With all of the new hunters in the province every year its hard for them to get a good start at it without knowing anyone or without somewhere to go. I figure why not give someone a reasonable starting point to a life long obsession such as hunting, and let them know that they do have areas they can go.

If anyone would like to contribute more public locations, please reply and I'll edit the list. Maybe it would be a good idea for a sticky too.

Please research the areas further before heading out to them as some areas have different rules regarding use.

Some areas also require an OFAH Membership.
