Pop Up Blind Stolen in Bright- Absolute RAGE!!

On an other note, but along the same line......I amazed at the sight of a hang-up tree stand AND screw in steps all the way to the ground that I saw in a public hunting area today. The person who owns this stand has way more faith in people than I do. I would have removed the bottom several feet of steps anyway. I have also came across a couple of ladder stands recently. I didn't take the time to check because it's not my business, but I hope they secured them with hardened chains and locks.

I had to retrieve a pop up about 1200yds from where it was suppose to be after the wind on Tuesday. It had 1 broken pole and no visible rips or tears. It was there in the early am when I went to another blind and not there when I was doing a walk to warm up a bit. The Bone Collector I was sitting in at the time lifted off me twice while sitting inside. Always wonder if they will be there when I go back though. Have had a few items go missing before. Hopefully the op's blind has just taken flight and can be found.

There's always the opportunistic thief and would never condone it. However, I'm sure you wouldn't leave the keys in the car either. Next time take the blind home.

I don't agree. Milli is on private property and shouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing. It makes no sense to set up and take down a blind every time you go hunting. The main idea is to be able to sneak in and get set up quietly.

As for car keys, I live in the country and the keys are always in the vehicles. Even when out shopping I never lock my car/truck unless it has expensive fishing/hunting equipment in it. For that matter my home is seldom locked, and if it is it's usually just the front door. But that's just me. To each their own. I choose to have some faith in folks and I will never be the type who locks their car at a gas station when they go in to pay. I just shake my head when I see it. People are so needlessly paranoid anymore. There are enough worries in life without adding more needless ones IMO. Less stress is best.

I've been lucky maybe. Never lost a cam or anything around here. Always on other folks' private property, but that doesn't really guarantee too much in some areas I guess, as you never know what kind of low-lifes might be on the other side of your property line.

Milli if it happened to me I would be infuriated as well. And then I might set up a sting operation of sorts and hope someone gets greedy. I would move the blind/ stand/trailcam/ feeder set up far enough away to make it look like I was trying to hide it, while keeping it in a good spot for hunting. There would be a no-glo cam up high in a tree for sure, with access from screw in pegs that are removed. Then hope for revenge hehe.

Then again, maybe it just did blow away. Either way, don't let it screw your hunt up. Maybe you could set up a good quick natural blind of some sorts. Like in or near some nice messy green areas if you're lucky enough to have any.

Thanks to all for your replies and glad I'm not alone. I did go back the next day with the missus and Jr to scout around after my bro mentioned it may have blown away as well. It was anchored in 8 spots and was tucked under and two wild cherries. The cherries were acting like a canopy and back wall. We still looked around though.

Wife asked why I left it out there and, as a couple of you mentioned, you can't pack this thing in and out every morning and night. The reason I didn't is with my pack and Excal x-bow it's near impossible.
Obviously in hind site............

I feel your pain, have had a one stolen before too. Took my favoret chair also. Think they followed my foot prints in looking for equipment.




Unfortunately you need to keep a eye open for stuff on sale...it really takes the fun out of it, showing up and your stuff is gone.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get them....

It's everywhere, even in small town hours from the GTA this things happen more often. Not much we can do about a blind or a tree stand, but lock your house and car because it's easy.

Carma is a real b!tch!!!! Just hope what they reap they will so. It's funny I bet the thief that stole it would get ticked off I somebody stole his blind/treestand/camera that he didn't even pay a cent for....actual confused because he believed it was ACTUALLY his!!!!! I hate people like that. We sacrifice out hard earned money for those low life's. just wish there was a "way to deal" with them and teach tthem some respect.
