On reflection....if I was to do this kind of experiment as a 'controlled' trial....to work out the best powder charge in my load..it would probably be more accurate if I had locked it onto sled.
Still I think I was able to show that the less powder I used the better the grouping I was getting even though it was shoulder mounted.

Funny how different gun brands like a certain load. I tried different powder charges with these Omegas, and my groups got better as I went up a bit. I tried 75 to 110 grains loose T7 behind a 250 gr shockwave, in 5 grain intervals, and 100 grains seemed to be the sweet spot. I know a guy with a CVA that's the opposite. Same bullet, same powder, and his is best at 85 grains. If you haven't already done it, give a shooting stick a go. I couldn't believe the difference it made for me ! It's just a monopod single stick. My wife has a double stick. Almost as good as sitting at the bench.
