At Home . Took the dogs for a 1/2 hr run this morning. 3 beautiful points on 3 beautiful ruffies and no gun in hand. Oh well, a great training opportunity and the dogs loved it.

Still 10 days left in the season up here so we will get a few more chances.

Sweet not always bout the kill . That's another reason I like hunting rabbit with my beagles . Don't have to shoot um all to have fun . Kinda like (catch & release ) hunting .

Even when I have my gun, I tend to release quite a few, usually not on purpose. Dog doesn't mind as long as I get one every so often

Lots of catch-and-release grouse hunting in the south, even when you take the gun. Flushed nine birds yesterday and not one in the bag. Perfect late season hunt: get out with the dog, make noise, and no birds to clean at the end of the day.

Flushed one grouse yesterday, not a hope of getting a shot off, those pines are pretty thick.
    And, I'm sticking to that!

    No he's just honest.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I flushed 5 ESG's on a great day last week...not a single shot offered despite great pointing by the dog. They don't live this long in the season by being stupid. Then, a couple days later when I finally did get a shot....someone put a tree right where I pulled the trigger....imagine....trees in a forest...who wouda thought???

The dog's not talking to me....lol
