    Default Buckmark rifle :: she's a keeper

    So after yesterday mornings uneventful sit in the deer woods my son and I went to play with the new rifle at the range. Well after sighting in and playing with various ammo she really liked 32 grain cci stingers.
    Range was 30 yards. Not bad so far and next week I will stretch her out to 50 then 100 yards.

    Does it cycle all ammo types well?

    If you are just looking for accuracy try our subsonics if you have not yet, they are slower than the speed of sound and have been crazy accurate for us. The only problem may be cycling the action and remington tend to be a little on the dirtier side.

    Beauty looking gun, again, just sweet.

    Only tried 3 types Fox, federal 40 gr solids (wich my sa .22 likes best) remington yellow jackets (wich my sons model 5 likes best) and the 32 grain stingers that nothing seemed to like til now. Go figure, I will play around with it some more when I can find different ammo to play with. But yes all ammo cycled properly with 300 down the pipe. On a side note , I wasn't sure about the height of the vortex but after shooting it off hand and off the bench it comes up well and seems a natural fit but I still may change it to a lower mount.

    The case on the stingers is a little longer so a lot of guns have issues with them. They are very accurate however. The CCI quiets are my favourite but not in semi's.

    If you are looking for accuracy try to find something in a target round, they are just below the sonic shock wave and a little more consistent, these are "standard" velocity rounds, like the 22LR was meant for. I stocked up on these as I have a 1960s Nomad that I do not want to risk wrecking with Hyper Velocity rounds, those older semis did not self adjust like the newer stuff.

    The Remington Subsonics have been a standout at 100 yards for a couple of our guns. One of them is a BSA Super Sport Five and at one point off a bench my brother had 5 shot groups inside a dime. That was back when we practiced a lot, but those rounds a couple weeks back gave some friends who had never shot a 1in 10 shot group and 3in 10 shot group at 50 yards on the bipod .
