Bancroft Area Ice
Any news? I heard a couple inches in the back bays or larger lakes. Smaller brookie lakes should be starting. Let us know!

I have a feeling BryanG from First Ice Brookies was fishing in our area.... Our small lakes are ice covered but I haven't been on any yet... The big lakes that have wave action are still open in places.

I've been out for brookies caught 9 all released. I wouldn't say "get on the ice it's safe" but if you know the lake then it might be an option. I'm talking just south of bancroft

Just talked to a former neighbor in the area around McArthurs Mills/Bolter. 4" of ice on Norway Bay.

Relatively shallow and weedy in spots. He did mention ice wasn't vehicle ready, so be careful, maybe walk in after getting to the bay.

I've heard you can pull some nice Pike out of the ice at Norway?
I have a cottage in the area and was thinking of heading up for some Brookies in the next week or two?
Good things come to those who bait...

Yeah should be good
I've also heard there is now 4"-5" of solid black ice on some trout ponds and shallow bays of bigger lakes... But of course lots of unsafe stuff too!
