Kimber target shooting

Has anyone had any experience with the Kimber 22 conversion units? A buddy has one in a Kimber frame that is having reliability issues...

I was tempted to pick up one of the conversions for my 45 but stayed away because of the problems your buddy has and at over 400 bucks it was to much risk. I think the magazine was the culprit along with the ejector, perhaps ask over on gun nutz.
