To me those are the most informative as I shoot all types. I'll pm some of the sites I visit.

One other way to go for a new muzzle loader is to sent a standard model 700, 721 to pr bullet. They will replace the bolt face and put a smokeless green mountain barrel on it for you all for about $500.

I am currently looking for a rifle to have this done.

Quote:"Not sure if I will develop an interest in the long distance shooting, I never had an interest in going smokeless, but now with the New Remington Ultimate ML, I might find a reason to punch paper out to 400 yrds just for poops and giggles".

One fella in our group was considering the New Remington, after he played with my Savage ML-11, he bought a Savage. He made the right choice. Remingtons track record on ML's has been less than stellar. They have played with electronic ignition and other ideas but none have proven reliable. Dumping more BP down a barrel will not give any better accuracy(as Remington make claims to).

I'm also familiar with the green mountain barrels. Please let us know how you make out with this setup

Will do. I have a tough choice to make now though. I don't need three smokeless mz's so one of my savages has to go....

I hate the idea of parting with one if them.

Since the Ultimate is 'new' I'll hold passing judgment until it's been on the market for a few years....
