Has too much time on their hands
New IMR powder 4451 and 4166
Got my grubby hands on one pound of each today.
Anybody play with these yet. They have good numbers.

just wondering what the powder is good for rifle what cal ?? pistol the same ??? or shot gun ... I do 308 , 30/30 , 223, 9mm 32 win spl,>>>thanks oilman

Rifle Cals by the look if it. One of the two is good for small and the other for large.

I have no clue about these powders but what scares me is that what you did is exactly how you have to get powder now.
You cannot go to the store wanting powder X, you have to go there, grab anything you can find and then figure out if powder Y, Z and Q will shoot worth a darn in anything you are reloading.
I really wish I had stocked up back when I was 15, ha ha

Where did you find it? I like the way it's promoted as temperature stable. For guys like us who work up loads in summer temps and then hunt in November that is a step forward. Stability in pressures makes a difference. Interested in how it will work in my 25-06 specifically. Let us know how it works out for you.

I picked it up at Williams. It wasn't a necessity buy. I have a good amount of great powders on hand. They just happened to have these two so what the heck!

Thanks. I will pop in and grab some. You don't know how good it is until you try it. Most of us burn powder that was developed decades ago, sometimes trying new stuff is a good thing.
