And the ability to shoot with both eyes open is a bonus for getting on target fast. I am looking at an aimpoint for my #1 in 45-70 as I think it will be a good match as most of my shooting with this gun will be under a hundred yards.

If I were to use one, I think it would be the Burris Fastfire II. Both eyes open and easy to remove and use the gun with normal sights.

Thanks for the info and the links, guys. I don't need to put a long range scope on a relatively short range rifle,so,it looks like I'll be trying a Red Dot on my new Marlin.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

One of the main reasons I went with the Lucid. Right around the $300 mark for a milspec type device.
But a 3-9X scope is going on my A bolt which I am just going out the door to pick up ! lol

Guys wouldn't bat an eye to pay that much for a scope.
Aimpoints are waterproof, shockproof, pretty much "anything proof".
The price caused me to pause before buying, but I would buy another in a heart beart. Comparing an Aimpoint to a $100 red dot sight is like comparing a Trijicon to a Tasco.
