Default 1st day on the hard water Dec 21/14

This post is a little late, been busy with xmas and family.
Me and a buddy had our 1st day out on Dec 21 up near Dunchurch/Ahmic Harbour. It was my 1st real attempt ever fishing the ice up there and we had a great day. The ice was 7-8 inches thick, no wind and had the lake to ourselves.
We iced about 20 crappie and kept 15, 3x13", 5x12", 5x11" and 2x9". We didn't have a fishfinder and drilled about 10 holes (my shoulders are still feeling it). Now I'm pumped to get a gas auger and rig up a portable fishfinder.
Hopefully the conditions haven't deteriorated too much. Here are a few pics., stay safe out there!

Great work. Looks like a tasty dinner.

I once had a haul like that down the road on Manitouwabing. tuff to target those guys. I ran into them looking for pickerel

If your head back out to the area keep us posted on conditions.
I am heading out to Whitestone just after new years and I am a little nervous.

Much better than the sunfish and small perch we used to get in the Limestone-Manitowabing network....Back then we never heard of ice fishing......
