Sad I could be wrong, but I am darn sure I am NOT...Family troubles to follow.

OK Over Christmas, I was talking to people at family get together. One thing that came up was that my sister-in-law has Purple Martin houses at her place, and they have to deal with Starlings. After being told that the starlings where being shot by a person that is not licensed to hunt. I informed the sister-in-law that they live in a no-discharge area. She says that the by-law does not matter, and that a CT air gun is all that is being used.
I tried telling her that the By-law does matter, and that a person has to be a licensed hunter to shoot the starlings because they are not doing any damage to her property or livestock( they have no livestock). I even tried to show her the sections that says that, but her and her husband just said the laws didn't mean anything.

Now just how close are they to the next house? Well her Brother-in-law has had to come over and replace/fix siding on a couple houses because holes have been shot in the vinyl siding.

If I am wrong please tell me.

You gave them the rules and now it is time to just go back to how you were and not give it a second more thought .

Might be best to mind your own peas n ques and let the sister in law enjoy Xmas, you don't want to be the know it all brother in law at the family gathering eh.

im sure if she's involved in something illegal her neighbours and the co or police will figure it out.

Even if everything else was within the various laws, the fact that there was damage to someone else's property would be serious problem and could lead to some legal issues.

If I ever found bullet holes in my siding, I'd be making sure the yahoo that did it was charged.

No excuse for it, I wouldn't see much of a problem if they did it discretely, But still no discharge means.....no discharge.

You said your peace so be it. Your right however you don't want to be the one that says "I told you so". Really its not your problem and infact bylaw will only come if someone reports it.

Yes I said "My Piece" as has been said, and have no trouble leaving it at that. I am just dealing with this sinking feeling that just knowing about this is some how going to come back on Karen and I. No I don't mean having problems with the family members, I am thinking OPP and/or MNRF problems. As in "Why would you not report a Poacher?"

Nuisance animal control is not " poaching " . How is it going to come back on you or your bride ? It's not you doing the deed nor is a murder about to be committed that you have knowledge of . Who cares . I know people that smoke dope and if they got busted it has nothing to do with me .

Forget about it. The neighbor obviously doesn't really care.. as long as his gets fixed promptly.. If you are really truly bothered by it rat em out... they are the in laws after all...
